I will be hosting a contributor weekend on 20th Feb, similar to the one that
kaberett did before. Details on my journal.
Details over in my journal for the sake of helping me keep track of responses! Everyone welcome, from complete beginner to long-time contributor. We'll be working on pretty much everything, including but not limited to bug characterisation, bug fixing, documentation (user- and developer-facing), and getting the Support Board tidied up. Hope to see some of you then! :-)
Ah, if only I could hop into the blue box and post this entry a few weeks ago...
Still, there is hope at the bottom of the Pandorica: is there anyone who's going to the Day of the Doctor screening at the Hackney Picturehouse in London and would like to meet up before the screening? :-)

If anyone would like to meet
holli, she is coming to London in August and we will be having a fannish dinner on 9th August to celebrate. I'll post more details on my journal nearer the time with the tag "con: london meetup". Is anyone else interested in joining us?
I'm planning to run a meet-up for the LJ community
northwest_fen in December, and am trying to work out a date for that. People think it's a good idea for me to amalgamate the meet with DW fans from the area, so this is what this post is about.
Can anyone here make a fannish meet in central Manchester? I can provide crash space for a few people if needed. The date isn't finalised yet, so you're welcome to have input! If you have an LJ account, the poll is in the latest post at the aforementioned community, but you'll need to join (and wait for our mod to approve your membership, she's careful about spam). If you'd rather answer this one, please do, but don't respond to both, thanks. :)
Once we've settled on a date (that is, if anyone responds, as nobody did to the feeler post in
manchester!), I'll make a members-only post with that and providing my address and contact details.
Hope to see some of you - thanks!

I'll be in Glasgow from Thursday 4 November until Sunday 7 November — are there any Glaswegians here who'd like to meet up for a drink or lunch or something?
For a long time, I have mourned the lack of a teleporter to enable me to go to
synecdochic's knitting meetups.
Now, I have my own flat in London, so I am proposing a local version. Anyone who can travel or teleport to Clapham is welcome. PM me for the exact address and my phone number. It is sadly on the first floor and has no lift, only stairs. Parking is difficult, but it is 10 minutes' walk from Clapham Junction, or on various bus routes.
October 3rd, 2pm-5pm. I will provide some sort of food and drink. Let me know if you have any particular dietary requirements. Bring knitting, writing or other crafts.

A few of us were planning an OTW meetup today, which has fallen through, but
watersword,
juliet and I had a great evening last night, and we were saying it would be good to do it more often, given that there are a fair number of us in and around London.
I'll be in London anyway on Saturday September 11th - does anyone want to meet up for coffee or drinks?

So, I was just thinking that I'd like to go out for pancakes tonight, and pondered briefly inviting some Dreamwidth folk out for it. Then, I realised that few of those in #dw, at least, were London based, so it was unlikely that I'd convince anyone to come and eat pancakes with me with just 3 hours before I planned to do it.
Then, I realised that in 2.5 months, it'll be Dreamwidth's first birthday and that's actually a reasonable amount of time in which to organise some kind of get-together. (I procrastinate easily, okay? It could well actually take me that long...)
Aaaanyway. Here's my proposition:
What: Dreamwidth Turns One party/meetup/thing
Where: London, UK
When: Friday April 30th 2010
ETA: this totally doesn't have to be the only UK meetup; I picked London because it's convenient for me, but if you want to organise another in another town/city then please, go ahead!
